Chateau Graviers has been one of our best selling wines since we started, consistently showing superb quality and exceptional value, vintage after vintage. Well, here it is, as silky and seductive as ever, but with a depth and intensity that brings it to a new level of complexity. The Cru Artisan classification is only given to independently owned Chateaux that offer consistently high quality wine. Reestablished by the French government in 2006, only 44 Chateaux have currently earned the Cru Artisan designation making it even more exclusive than Cru Bourgeois. This 2005 is perhaps the best wine they have produced. The blend is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc from vines averaging 30 years old. It's been aged in oak barrels for 12 months. The production is very small for a Medoc wine, less than 4,000 cases were made. Can be decanted and enjoyed right now or aged for years to come.
